Renovate or Sell?
Regardless of the amount of time you are planning to stay in your home, there are advantages to home improvement projects. Some homeowners mistakenly think new windows and doors might be a waste of their money if they are planning to move soon. Won’t the new owners want to customize the home to their own personal style?

The truth is, these renovations could help speed up the time that it takes to sell. A high-quality home gives the buyer an easy option to make the decision. At the same time, you will maximize your selling price because of the upgrades you put into place.

Even if you aren’t planning to sell for a while, you should install replacement windows and doors right away. Investing in these upgrades will allow you to enjoy benefits for however long you live in the home.

Evaluating Overall ROI
The biggest issue homeowners run into is getting caught up in the numbers of the initial installation without thinking about the future. You need to consider how these products will help with the overall value of your home.

After you have invested the money for replacement windows and doors, there are several financial benefits you will enjoy. For example, you will see an immediate drop in your utility costs. High-quality windows will keep your home sealed, helping with energy efficiency. Lower utility bills will help you save money every month going forward.

Another financial benefit is the amount of equity you can roll into your next home when you decide to sell. Maximizing your equity is highly beneficial for the financial outlook for your family.

Upgrade Your Lifestyle with Replacement Windows

Many people find that high-quality windows help increase their satisfaction with their home. If you are happy with the quality of your home, you have a great place where you can build memories with your family.

Replacement windows help to optimize the natural sunlight that filters into each room. As a result, your mood will go up and you will have a smile on your face throughout the day. It is essential to create and install a design style you love and always include high-quality windows in your plan.

Also, consider the function of your windows. Upgrading your lifestyle means you can easily manage different tasks around your home. It should be easy to open and close the window when you want to let in a fresh breeze. Old, warped window frames can be difficult to move. If it is hard to open your windows, it is a good sign that you need to invest in replacement windows and doors to bring that function back into your house.

How to clean double hung replacement windows?
Use this step-by-step guide to help you keep your double hung replacement windows clean, highly functioning and beautiful for years to come.

  1. Unlock all of the windows by moving the bottom sash latches inwards.
  2. Start at one window, and raise its bottom sash six to eight inches up.
  3. Find the tilt hatches on the bottom sash, and pull them inwards as if you were trying to have the hatches meet in the middle of the window.
  4. Gently tilt the window forwards towards the inside of your house. The goal is to get the window to be flat, at an almost 90-degree angle. However, you need to be careful that you don’t tilt the window too far, so it’s important to go slowly.
  5. Slide the top sash downwards for six to eight inches.
  6. Find the tilt hatches on the window’s top sash and move them inwards, just like you did on the bottom sash.
  7. Just like you did on the bottom sash, slowly and gently tilt the window forwards towards the inside of your house. The goal is to get the window to be flat, at an almost 90-degree angle. Don’t tilt it too far.
  8. You’re ready to start cleaning!
  9. Begin with the top sash, cleaning from the interior to the exterior.
  10. Once you’ve cleaned the interior, slide the top sash back into its frame to clean the exterior of the window.
  11. Clean the bottom sash, again starting with the interior.
  12. Move the bottom sash back into place, and clean the exterior of the bottom sash.
  13. Replace the sash back in its frame.
  14. Put the sash back into the lift rail and close the window. Be careful not to close the window from the top to avoid damaging it.
